Frontman Fight #4: Arnel Pineda vs Steve Perry
A capacity crowd at Journey Arena was on hand to witness the battle between Neal Schon's You Tube Revelation vs The Voice. In a battle for the ages, the crowd did not leave the arena disappointed. But only one frontman would come out victorious. It's up to you!

Steve Perry strolled in to the Arena with tremendous confidence. Coming off a 2nd Rd KO of Jeff Scott Soto, Perry was riding his victory in stride as legions of die hard fans were on hand to witness the action. Chants of "Arnel" echoed throughout the arena among the thousands of flag waving Filipinos as Arnel Pineda leaped on to the stage. Pineda previously defeated Steve Augeri by unanimous decision. Pineda greeted Perry with a huge smile and shook his hand as if a fan was meeting an idol. But as Pineda let go of his handshake, he immediately twirled his microphone stand and jammed to Never Walk Away.
Perry just stood there with his arms crossed and smiled. He then took his mic, put his arm around Pineda and said, "You see that girl over there, that Girl Can't Help It" and the crowd went nuts. Perry was definitely at the top of his game and Pineda was prepared for every move.
As the battle progressed, the crowd was having the time of their lives. Perry suddenly realized he was in a real fight and Pineda was not going to go down easily. Each stood toe to toe to each other. Everytime Perry would hit a note, Pineda would hit it higher and hold it longer. When Pineda would jump off the drum set, Perry stood his ground and wooed the crowd with a soothing vocal harmony. Back and forth it went, when suddenly, they decided to perform a duet of Don't Stop Believing, followed by Be Good To Yourself. The crowd went nuts and when the final round sounded, both singers kept punching after the bell. Neither wanted to stop performing.
And now the decision...
- Judge #1: Scored in favor of Perry
- Judge #2: Scored in favor of Pineda
- Judge #3: Scored in favor of ?
You decide...
Bottom Line: Steve Perry is forever linked with Journey. He is the legacy voice that Neal Schon wanted every successor to sound like. In just a short time, Arnel Pineda has helped reignite the band and fans around the world. The similarities are remarkable but distinguishable. Only time will tell if Pineda will have the longevity and similar success as Perry, but you never know. What we do know now is that Journey is back and rocking as hard as ever!

It was fun just comparing the two. The similarities are incredible.

No Kidding! It would sell out stadiums if Perry and Arnel shared the stage. I wouldn't miss that tour for the world. The Reunion and Revelation Tour!

Man this would have been a dream concert that I would gladly pay big dineros for!
As Frontmen, both are winners here! No doubt! However Arnel has the better Cinderella Story HANDS DOWN!
Go Journey!

Thanks. The voting is so lopsided in just the 1st week. I thought it would be a little closer.

Thanks for the response ImUrChef. Steve Perry and Arnel Pineda certainly have different styles. Journey has been able to reach to different generations of listeners in 30 years. There are loyal followers on both sides but it's all good.

The ONLY problem is STEVE PERRY is the original and if ARNEL got it first then STEVE PERRY will have a BIG problem...If BOTH have sing different song and different band then ARNEL is the real winner....
